Is it at an independent shop? As another has stated Overhaul kit reasonable. But will need head work, injectors. What is the rest of the tractor like? tires? I would look at total cost of OH. and then decide, But would lean to overhauling it as your part way there.. Have the planetaries been turned/swapped? Might want to drain the oil and see what that looks like.. Post updates.
