CENTRAL ILLINIOS | Like mentioned above ,if it were mine, I would need to look at the dollar difference between just putting it back together as you planned and going ahead with the in frame. Any indication as to why the head gasket failed?
We did an in frame on an 855 in a JD a few years ago due to cylinder wall cavitation. They made that engine for a lot of years and things changed along the way. My mechanic had trouble finding the proper torque for the head bolts and he had to go back in and replace the head gasket. He had a repair manual that was just a couple years too new for our block and they had changed. Those 855's are getting old enough that there are not many mechanics left with experience on them. | |
