Had an 855 leaking like you describe. Cummins shop foreman told me it was unlikely it was just gaskets. The Liners sink and the coolant comes past the counterbore/sleeve flange. When we got the heads off we couldn't find a gasket problem. Our counter bores were out of spec. We had Cummins out to re-machine the counter bores and then put shims in to correct the problem. It was surprising to hear the boring tool not cut all the way around the hole till it got down a bit.
I would be worried that head gaskets won't fix the problem. 8000 tractor hours has been a pretty good run for an 855.
