minn gopher - 4/2/2025 18:47 Thank goodness our country has never manipulated any of those markets.

The USA manipulates those markets to the detriment of Chinese interests, in China?

Do share how and when that has happened.

Us government propping up of ethanol certainly has driven prices up globally

The US govt has done more to artificially keep the price of corn down (through subsidies and bogus USDA reports) than what ethanol has done to keep the prices of corn up.

Try again, I'm looking for something along the lines of the US blocking exports to China like China has done by blocking imports from the US.   Not just placing tariffs on, completely blocking certain imports with the purpose of crashing the market, after the market crashes they resume buying at a severely discounted price.     China has been playing that game for decades.

I’m not disagreeing with how China does things. But to say the US is all about free trade is ridiculous.

We can go way back when the government was paying farmers to store grain set a side acres and so on.

40% of our corn goes to ethanol. Then you got CRP, solar and wind taking land out So I’m not to sure subsidize crop insurance MFP 1 2, PPP offsets all that. Maybe.
