We can go way back when the government was paying farmers to store grain set a side acres and so on. 40% of our corn goes to ethanol. Then you got CRP, solar and wind taking land out So I’m not to sure subsidize crop insurance MFP 1 2, PPP offsets all that. Maybe.
None of that even remotely compares to the market manipulation China has done by flat out blocking imports of certain products based on BS reasons when the real reason was/is to simply crash the market.
Then a few days or weeks later, they resume taking said product after they bought it during the "30-40% off" sale that they made for themselves.
Yeah the grain guys can weld the bin door shut and wait it out, it doesn't work like that for the livestock guys. You can't just store livestock, that are ready for market, indefinitely.
