I try to discourage hay costumers from buying my alfalfa hay, unless their animals are lactating or in heavy exercise programs.
Still I would not say Clover is bad for horses, or white clover will cause organic problems. My reason being horse owners, besides being notional as to what is desirable horse feed also tend to blame others, meaning the hay farmer, for any and all dietary problems.
Talk about notional horse nutrition, there are some who go the opposite direction and insist horses, their horses, do better with low digestible and low protein hay. Possibly a valid theory for a percentage of horse management styles. | |
