Aberdeen MS | I agree with IL_no_till. No reason to sell right off the combine unless commercial storage is full up and the only way to dump is to sell or DP (I highly doubt that situation this year tho).
"Here" .. commercial storage is 3 cents a month/bushel. 6 months storage is only 18 cents, but I highly doubt that ROI would take that long at all once the final figures are in for the year.
Benefits include when ready to sell or need some cash flow... telephone call is all it takes to put money in the bank. No need to start up trucks when it's -20 outside and the snow is blowing, having to move the snow and dealing with frozen grain (might be a bridge somewhere in the bin). If one normally waits until Mar/April time frame, no need to deal with road restrictions/mud trying to get the grain to market.
