Tekonsha Mi. | I am wondering about the farmers in the south that plant cotton and soy's that tried corn this year the way I under stand it some of them had a very bad year with corn due to drought and also flooding now they are about to face harvest with a bad basis and not a lot of on farm storage not to mention the lines at the elevator. If that is true than how many of them (after seeing N prices higher than I can remember) will say this aint worth it? Also last year was supposed to be the aphid year and if the cycle continues like most people will bet on than next year shouldn't be one so they will figure the cost of soy's will be less. Another factor may be that after all the corn put out this year how many farmers will be willing to spend the extra money to put out a ygrw corn or pay for insecticide? With wheat, and soy's so high I am betting with my marketing plan that corn will have a rally in late Jan. through Feb. I look forward to hear other peoples comments.
Also seed corn prices are going up 10 to 20 % from what I have heard. | |
