Thought I was the only one thinking about the basis being low _this_ time of year around here.... Lot of corn got sold pre-harvest & planned to go down the river - or over the Rockies. Now we had a lot less corn that anyone thought.

Hummm. Wonder what the basis will be in Feb/March time frame?

I'd say it is due to the drought, but of course the demand from the ethanol plants is needed to make the tight supplies visable.

As mentioned, I'd always heard the ethanol plants offer us about a dime better basis 'here' in Minnesota than without them.
