Having a very difficult time shaking this head cold & also trying not to watch these markets too closely.

A couple of things.

A long time ago, a friend from out East, well-connected in Las Vegas in those days, invited me to go out for a weekend. In most of the casinos I noticed the one or two tables enclosed by velvet ropes. "Larger limit Baccarat" my friend indicated. Being of a mind to try everything & of an appetite for large risk, on later trips I learned the game (simple & boring) on the small tables & soon was behind the velvet ropes-while a simple game, a lot more pressure behind those ropes. About two weeks ago, all of us in these grain markets...just stepped behind those velvet ropes. A bigger bet now.

This deal in Pakistan this morning raises some stakes also. More money will be spent & could become a real headache.

I recommend reading "See No Evil" by Robert Baer. The basis for the movie 'Syrianna.' Baer was a long time CIA operative in the Middle East- A VERY INTERESTING HISTORY OF HOW WE HANDLE problems which persist in that area. A wrong step with one group or tribe can raise problems with dozens of other tribes or groups. While I think as a country our intentions are always honorable, we sometimes seem to affiliate with individuals or groups, which if we took the time to understand the culture of a country, we might not support.
