Leesburg, Ohio | Good theory, but tell me, when is "late"? What if the market turns meanwhile, prices plummet...there goes your margin. You are still fully exposed to market risk on the sales.
I don't know when "late" is, but I can lock in most of my costs, and lock in a profit on sales by hedging and/or forward contracting right now, which is something we have not had the opportunity to do all at once in many, many years, at least to the degree we have had this year. | |
