Western Nebraska | Since this isn't a very active thread I am going to hijack it a little and pass on something we were told at the Range Beef Cow Symposium. There was a presenter there on AI systems. They did a fairly large study and determined that you only gain 4% on average conception by heat detecting. There was a four percent increase in conception when they heat detected, and time inseminated versus just timed insemination alone. I couldn't hardly believe that was true so I reread the proceedings and that is what their data showed. That was all it took to convince me to forget that rotten job.
