In the short term, emotions. If someone dispensing the advice to sell & the market has chewed them up for a few months, they begin to wonder....maybe even get to the point they believe all of the market rhetoric.

One thing to consider for crops in 2010, will we see some shifts around the world during this coming year? I note the big rapeseed plant being constructed in China. It is scheduled to go on stream in late 2009.

According to my calculations, 1.55 acres of soybeans are required to get the oil equivalent from 1 acre of rapeseed, while only .35 acres of soybeans will produce the equivalent amount of meal from 1 acre of rapeseed. Soybeans are primarily a meal seed.
