| Because our son is still in physical rehab & is limited as to how much time he can spend on his feet & after he completes his exercises & reads..he kills time watching movies.
He has run through about every movie in the area, but I watched "Golden Door" with him the other evening & by Martin Scorsese & covers, fictional, but based upon researched facts relative to entering the US through Ellis Island, & while I have seen better movies...this one is very interesting because the folks coming through Ellis Island were required to jump through some challenging hoops to receive approval. If they did not meet those requirements, some family members were returned to their homelands leaving others approved to enter the USA. Enlightened me a bit in regard to the current immigration debate. | |
