there is a world wide shortage of oats....as reported by our local newspaper. if one isn't looking for energy in their grain and want an extrenely good protein and fibre source for human consumption and animal consumption....oats is the answer. take a look at cost of production vs. income potential.....around here oats is still a low-cost-per-acre crop vs. corn and can out $ corn on income figuring in straw and grain. oats is the crop of choice with organic farmers when it comes to a winter cover crop that frost kills.
