all depends what kind of crop and yield the dirt will grow. DaleK - that rent sounds cheap for land that sells for that much. In our area, cash rent is often around 5% of the cost of the land to buy. Right now $700/ac land would rent for around 35-40 which is 5-10/ac higher than it was a few years ago. $40/ac on $1500/ac land seems like it is unbalanced.
