| To answer your question, a guy typically uses the same (general) population whether the beans are planted in wide rows or drilled in narrow rows. Typical row widths are 30", 15", and 7.5". 30" rows are standard in that they match most corn planters. 15" rows are typically planted with corn planters with splitters - as Agboy described. 7.5" rows are typically drilled. If you go into the Michigan area, you might find 22" rows. That would take specialized equipment, However, I believe they plant navy beans and sugar beets in that row spacing, so they would be equipped to plant soybeans in the same row spacing.
In your original post, you stated: 16-32" rows. I read that to say 16 rows, with a spacing of 32". I thought that seemed like an odd row spacing. However, it is possible. Agboy read your post to say 32 rows on 15" spacing, planted with a corn planter that has 16/32 splitters. So now, I don't know which you were referring to. And maybe you don't either.
