I keep hearing from many people that one does not need to market too far out at this time. This implies that prices are going to stay at this level or go higher. It appears that a majority of people feel like we will not see prices go down much in the next couple of years and might even see them go higher.
I guess it is my conservative nature coupled with past experience that makes me want to take issue with this. Just when we think there is no way prices can go down, they do. I have no complicated explaination for my position. Just a gut feel and nothing more. Hope I am wrong.
It appears to me these price we have for 09 and 10 corn and beans are decent. I can't see passing up an opportunity to sell a small part of your crop at these levels just because we don't know what is going to happen in the future. | |
