Subject: RE: Crop Insurance Question

COUP; Looks like you have been doing a pretty good job of getting your premium back on that Grip.

I live in an area where we have been pretty lucky with rainfall the past couple of years. However, just north of me also west and south there were some pretty severe drought areas. Grip didn't kick in. CRC & RA did.

Input costs are at an all time high. My wife does not work on the farm and neither does my banker. I feel I want to keep that banker happy if that spot drought drops down 15 miles in 2008. I'd also like to keep the wife cooking. I feel that until I am financially stable to roll the dice on a $70 per acre gamble I'm going with the sure thing. 85% RA with HPO so I can get the full swing in price.

One more thing, why are the FEDS trying the BYE pilot program? They apparently feel the hybrids are drought resistant enough to warrent the discounts. If that is the case, the Grip may not trigger as quickly.
