West Michigan
I would do your homework on this one!!! I did and the 2421(the only vistive bean that will work in Michigan) does not yield. Compared it in trials with other good varieties and it lost all of them. Looked at over 25 plots with 2403 vs. 2421 vistive it lost 100% of the time and it ranged from .9 bu to 12.6 for an avg of 4.3bu loss. Told our local crusher I wouldnt do it for less than $1.25 a bushel. They wanted 20-25 thousand acres this year and got about 6-8 thousand. They were only paying .25 cents. Many people laughed in there face including me!! This kind of thing bugs me when Monsanto and Dupont line up with crushers such as Bungee and have the deal all cut and dried. You know the crusher and Bungee are making more than .40 cents and we are the ones raising them and they offer us .25-.40 cents. If farmers refuse to grow them we could get .75-1.00

Just my 2 cents
