northwest tennessee
I would keep working with the heifer and she may come around but usually if they havent by 72 hours they dont. I have a cow that did that for 4 years and I kept her because she is a good cow. The first year she did it for about 2 or 3 days and then just like a light came on she claimed it. She would bawl to it and smell of it but if it ever made a noise or came to her she would butt it. The next years at 12 hours she claimed it and would think the world of it. As far as getting the heifer to claim it dont really know anything else for you to do. I would just keep doing what you are doing and if it doesnt work you may have a bottle calf. I bet that heifer does that again if you keep her. Good Luck
