I think it has something to do with the ventilation inside a hoop building. A monoslope is just a big flat roof that allows air to move right through it. Hoops tend to hold heat and moisture up in the roof. Cattle can keep warm as long as they don't get wet. And any moisture at all in the winter causes respiratory problems. Just my observations.
