S.W. Manitoba | system. Farm I work at uses it. Beef cows look at it and laugh. It will keep dairy cows in no problem. Its not high enough. If they can get their neck over it they'll jump it. If there running they wont stop for it. Theres nothing visually deterring about it. Power goes off theres nothing there as a back up. Calves slip under it all the time. Thats just what I see everyday. Its cheap to put up but thats the only plus too it. Place I work at is about the only place that uses it. Anyone else that has barb wire with no power, never has cows out. Just my .02
