lascassas, tn | I have raised chickens for several years now. Largest flock was 30. I have never had any luck getting a RI red to sit. It seems like the big girls have the urge to sit bred right out of them. All of my big girls were ordered from mcmurray hatchery. Banthams on the other hand seem to always want to sit. It seems that they will hatch out and raise their chicks and then within a few weeks go back to sit on more eggs if I'm not careful. Maybe you should add some banthams to the flock. You could use them to sit on some big girl fertilized eggs! Mrs. dj dill | |
