Western Nebraska | That is an awful broad question. What type of operation are you considering? Do you want to have to take care of cattle year around? Are you interested in raising cattle for your own consumption? Do you want to have cows? Do you have access to bulls? Do you have access to year around feed? Do you have the money to purchase feeder calves? Do you know what a feeder calf is?
I am not trying to be a smart alec, but we really need to know what background you have with regards to livestock before we can begin to offer any sort of intelligent advice. If it is just a passing interest or thought and you have no background with livestock I would suggest you let the thought pass on by, maybe find someone to lease the ground and put cattle on it. Raising cattle takes a tremendous amount of time and money for someone with no background in livestock. Give us as much detail as you can about your background and your location and we will try to give you some intelligent advice.
