West Michigan | I'm going to replace an older barn with a hoop or a pole barn contruction approx 40 x 100 for holstein feeder cattle. The hoop barn (Winkler) quotes are quite a bit more than the pole barn type. My concern is the metal on the pole barn and condensation/rusting. What have others done? The sides of either barn would have curtains. A roof vent would help some of this. What is recommended underneath the steel on the roof? anything? I have seen a few barns with a clear roof panel every other 3' section. What do you guys/gals think? The hoop barn has it's advantages, but I can do most of the pole barn work myself.
