Subject: RE: dewormers

I just had a blow out with the vet yesterday when he came to preg. check beef cows. We had bought a gen. Ivermectrin pour-on in 5 L bottles made by Aspen for 50 dollars from Vet. Pharm. Inc. He wouldn't preg. cow unless we used Pfizer Dectimax. So we caved in and used his, because we had over 1,200 cows waiting, but I'm going to the clinic tomorrow and going to hash it out with them. It just burns me that Pfizer is raping us charging over $300 a bottle for their wormer. I don't use any wormers on my dairy cattle once they reach springers. Only use dust bags on the milking herd. The dairy cattle are locked up, fed in mangers, never grazed out.

We only used to use Warbex on the beef cattle, but it was mean stuff to handle, it was cheap and it worked. But it would sure make you sick if you got any on your skin.
