middle TN | Thanks for the info on the wire vises. I had't though of the wires sticking out, but that would be a problem. I haven't used the wire-vise as all of my HT has been electric, using either wrap-arounds or bull-nose type insulators. I have had the ratchet type strainers to fail here, just like others, a cow or something hits the wire and apart they come. I have only used the Daisy type strainers for the last couple of years, for the most part I am happy with them.
