One good wind after you chop them will benefit the neighbors cows greatly. I usually will take my 20' flail windrower, cut and windrow the stocks, then bale them and all that you can see on the ground is corn. Sometimes too much corn and not enough stover. I would leave them. My cows are on stalks all winter and 10 acres would last my 40 cows maybe a week but i doubt it.
