I've always thought it would be a huge money saver to have a nice used grinder around, as long as you have storage for corn and/or DDG's or bean meal. Then you wouldn't have to pay for delivery and mixing of bulk feeds, because you could drive to the feed dealer and buy the bagged ingredients like premixes, etc. and take them home and grind them yourself. Say you save a $50 charge on delivery/mixing charges for each batch you grind, and you would be grinding an average of a batch a week. I have no idea what the grinder would cost, but say it was $10,000. It would take 100 batches, or weeks in this scenario, for the machine to pay for itself. Since you would probably use the machine for quite a few years, in my opinion, it would be a good investment.
