| Feed efficiency is related to the blend of grains/minerals and the fineness of the finished product. When I was feeding out pigs, the town feed mill used rollers and only cracked the grain at its tightest setting. I bought an old grinder mixer that had screens going down to 1/8 inch, which is the screen I chose to use. Mixing my own grain and adding the mill's mineral and bean meal I got a fine grind that produced much better results on rate of gain. | |
