Subject: Re: Buying Alfalfa?

East Central Kansas
We used to dairy and raised all our own hay now i am selling alfalfa and the thing i try to do is sort it as it goes on the truck. I don't let the kind of trash you are talking about leave the place. This year my 4th cutting got rained on bad no mold but it is tobacco brown I will just keep it and feed it to my beef cows. I have sold some to different guys that were hay traders and what they do with it after me is up to them. I also sell some locally to a dairy they send their nutritionist over to test it and they know exactly what they are getting. As for you CW IL there are plenty of guys out there that sell hay ditch the one you have and get someone who will get you what you are looking for.
