| Marketing. You see all of these different breed associations because of Marketing. When you have something (cattle) that is basically a commodity, you are a price-taker. Breed associations try to differentiate themselves in order to get a higher premium.
Pretty much the same idea as gas stations. You can get gas anywhere and it will be the same, although you have companies trying to get a premium by claiming to have cleaner gas. | |
