You will never beat a bale fork for picking and unloading bales, they just make things twice as fast and simpler to do. We have a JD one, it has a large main prong, with 2 small ones to hold the bale from sprining, we make our bales as tight as we can with a JD 567 baler... and never have had a problem picking a bale.... maybe with some of the older/larger diameter prongs that was a problem? We have both a grapple/ bale fork.... can change between them in likely less than 3 minutes. I would buy both if it was me...
