| I can think of better things to do, like putting my money in a Mason jar, than pay $600+ for a steer that needs 700 lbs. added to him with the current economic realities. Heard the record fat story last year, it seems to be pretty elusive. Unfortunately, the unemployeed are going to be choosing a piece of chicken or pork over a T-bone, and there seems to be more and more belt tightening going on. God bless the feeder, because us cow guys need them and it is one tough business, but I hate to see them accelerating into a crash and burn instead of just easing up for a little while and letting some of the uncertainy clear. We got a real blood bath coming in the feeding and dairy businesses. | |
