Missouri
Not since 1959 have numbers been this low. History says years that end in 9 have been good to the cattle industry. Ten year cattle cycle. (3-4 bad) Let this economy stabilize ha, ha, and could be good times. Will be a shortage of numbers sometime this year is easy to predict. Additionally this weather is crazy. Dry open winter has greatly reduced winter feed requirements. Once got past Dec has been easy going. Calves start anytime. So dry around here grass fires have driven the fire dept. crazy last couple of days. Fire is a danger. Wind is bad tonight. Think will hook the disc up tomorrow. La Nina better die out before summer. Report from National Cattlemen's Convention in Phoenix attendance down by 1/3. That does not surprize me.
