If they are "fat, way to fat" as you say, I would finish them out and start over this time little to no grain, maybe some extra protein to get size but don't get them fat. Being in proper condition will give you a healthy cow that will bread back easier and not need as much maintenance. That is my suggestion without looking at them.

The other suggestion I have is to have them AI'ed instead of natural service. I don't know what your bull rent is but around "here" AI would be much cheaper with that number of animals (and better genetics). I also don't like exposing heifers to a bull that "has been around the block" just too much possibility of disease.

Just my thoughts. They are worth what you paid for them.
