Cleaning hard pack off hog slats?

Lower the temp in the barn until the hogs lay on the solid cement, they won't crap where they lay and vise versa.

Also if they aren't already the feeders and waterers should be placed on the slats. This helps move the sleeping area onto the solid floor.

If they start crapping on the solid floor scrape it off and put feed down so that the floor is dry and smells good. Do that as long as it takes to break the pattern.

My dad has a partial slat building so I know what kind of buildup you're dealing with. Once its on there is no GOOD way to get it off, but the best thing I have found is just use a straight tip (not a fan or a rotating tip, just a straight tip) to cut it up then turn on the sprinkler line and let it soak in.
