Here is my take on clover seed and there are lots that wont agree. I dont like coated seed because i dont like to pay for clay. I had rather have raw seed and use innoculant on it and make sure it is clean seed with good germ. I used the rural king seed for several years and just could not get it to do any good. I finally decided it was the seed and not conditions. The germ was never very good on it. I get mine from Ferry Morse now that is here local. I bought some this year for 2.75 a pound and it is good seed. Like the above I use a 4 wheeler and a Herd seeder. I will come back over it with a chain harrow if it is not too muddy.
