West Salem, Illinois | To make it better i'm calving now also! Thankfully I do have some concrete at the barn (old feedlot). I had a cow drop a nice bull calf in the mud right off the concrete, when I got to him he was in a mess. I went in to my boot tops and was able to get my arms under him and get him into the barn. I walked home and sprayed myself down with a hose before going into the garage. Changed, and walked back up to the farm (1/2 mile) during the walk back I kept telling myself the calf wasn't going to make it. When I walked in the barn the little turd was up sucking, he was still a muddy mess but the cow was letting him suck and lickiing him off! THANK GOD for all the little miracles. | |
