NW Mississippi | appreciate it guys. Being more of the row crop farmer I would hate to bale up all of that crop residue instead of putting it back into the ground or leaving it on top of the no till fields to conserve moisture. And as for the gin trash the issue would be finding a place to keep it dry after it came out of the gin. Feeding gin trash has worked well for us when our gin is running in the fall and it is not rainy but shut the gin down and add rain and it doesnt keep too well. Dont know of any ddg's around here and the hay we have been feeding is junk other than the tifton. I was thinking we could cut out 2-3 (poor quality)laborors etc from putting up so much hay and running tractors around all day moving it with flatbeds and still feed a little tifton with silage. My memories are of much healthier looking cows when we did feed.
What are custom silage rates including bagging in your area? | |
