Yes the thistles could be a major problem here in the open plains. They could really pile up if your neighbors don't control. Thankfully most of my neighbors around me do a good job of controlling weeds.
What size of powerflex post would you recomend? Have you used the 1 5/8 bull post? Maybe the 1 1/4 would do.
