Subject: Re: Spreading red clover on pasture

Coon Rapids,Iowa
3 years ago, I started a rotational grazing plan where I move the cow calf pairs every 3 days. At that time, I grazed the bluegrass down short & interseeded red clover into the grass with a no till drill on or about the end of Aug. The next Spring you could see right where the rows of clover were, & still can everytime you put the cows in about every 21 days. I haven't drilled any more in since then but may have to this next Fall. I also mix in a couple of pounds in the mineral everytime during the Summer & that also helps seed it out through the cow manure. May sound unorthodox, but it works for me.
