I had a heifer once that fell/got pushed by others into a water trough, I stood back and watched what she would do, she struggled for a few seconds, then seemed to give up and might've let herself drown, so I went over and hollered at her, which caused her to scramble some more and then she made it back to her feet. Glad I was there!
