Subject: RE: Attached garage heat source in northern climates

North Dakota, USA
We have an attached garage with floor heat and a hanging propane furnace for quick warm up if we want it. We had major moisture problems the first winter. We put in an air ex-changer the following summer and have not had an issue since. It is set to run anytime the humidity reaches the set percent, I think I have it set at 50%. That made a huge difference.

You also need to have a floor drain and correct slope so there are no puddles on the floor.

Also keep it warm. I tried ours at 50 degrees and in the morning, the floor was still wet and sometimes there was still ice on the cars. At 60 everything is dry. And considering we hang our coats out there, 60 is much nicer.

I am not sure where you are located and I am speaking of North Dakota winters. Go 300 miles south of here and what we have to do here would be overkill there.
