| I have a later model 4020 that starts hard. I need to use it on an auger and would probably use it more if it started easier.
It is 12 volt system 2 6v batteries tied in series. It just seems like it doesn’t crank very long before it gives up. Anyway I’m going to get the starter checked tomorrow just to rule it out. I have also determined that my cables are in need of replacing. They are probably part of the problem.
My question is on batteries. I believe the two 6v batteries are 850 cca. I’m wondering about putting a single or double 12 v battery up on the frame near the starter.
Can someone confirm my logic for me? 2 12v connected parallel won’t give anymore ccs than one battery but will crank longer? Right?
However I have a 4430 with 2 6v and it cranks long time so maybe starter and cables will fix it.
I’m rambling now. | |
